First of Gurkha’s Year of the Dragon Begins Shipping

Gurkha has announced that they have begun shipping two of the four quarterly releases for The Year of the Dragon. Now shipping are the Gurkha Year of the Dragon by AJ Fernandez and Ernest Pérez-Carrillo. Released at the PCA (Premium Cigar Association) Convention in Las Vegas, Nevada last month, the four part Year of the Dragon by Gurkha Cigars is in partnership with different manufacturers of the industry. The first release of Gurkha Year of the Dragon by AJ Fernandez was slightly delayed due to box manufacturing and Nicaraguan registration, but is now shipping alongside the Gurkha Year of the Dragon by Ernesto Pérez Carrillo.

Gurkha Cigar Group partnered with AJ Fernandez to create a 6 5/8×52 box pressed cigar in a 10 count commemorative green box set to ship following the PCA Trade Show. The cigar features an Ecuadorian Habano Wrapper, 100% Nicaraguan Binder, and Nicaraguan Filler. It is made by AJ Fernandez in Nicaragua. The second collaboration that is shipping is a 10 count black commemorative box, 6 5/8×54 toro cigar by Ernesto Pérez-Carrillo. The cigar features a Mexican San Andres Wrapper, Ecuadorian Connecticut Binder, and Fillers from Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic. It is made by Ernesto Pérez-Carrillo in the Dominican Republic. Both cigars have an MSRP of $25.00 each.

Set to ship later in the year are Gurkha Year of the Dragon by Oliva Cigar Company with an estimated shipping date in June; and Gurkha Year of the Dragon by Oscar Valladares set to ship in September. Each release of Gurkha Year of the Dragon is a limited edition of only 2,000 boxes per manufacturer.
