New HVC Connecticuts Heading to Stores Tomorrow

The new HVC Selección No.1 Connecticut and a new size for the Hot Cake Golden Line will begin shipping to stores tomorrow.

HVC Selección No.1 Connecticut uses an Ecuadorian Connecticut-seed wrapper over a Nicaraguan binder and Nicaraguan fillers from Estelí and Jalapa. It is made at HVC’s factory in Estelí, Nicaragua. It’s the third Selección No. 1 line, which is already offered in Maduro and Natural blends.

All three HVC Selección No. 1 lines are offered in the same three regular production sizes.

  • HVC Selección No. 1 Connecticut Short Robusto (4 1/2 x 52) — $9.60 (Box of 20, $192)
  • HVC Selección No. 1 Connecticut Esenciales (5 5/8 x 46) — $9 (Box of 20, $180)
  • HVC Selección No. 1 Connecticut Poderosos (6 x 54) — $10.50 (Box of 20, $210)

The company is also shipping the new HVC Hot Cake Golden Line Half Corona, a 3 1/2 x 44 petit corona. It uses an Ecuadorian Connecticut-seed wrapper over a Nicaraguan binder and Nicaraguan fillers. This is the fifth size for the line—joining the four vitolas that launched last year—and one that HVC says required adjusting the blend.

Pricing for the Hot Cake Golden Line Half Corona is set at $4.80 per cigar and it comes in boxes of 25.
